Hi all,

I am currently trying to come up with the cheapest system for us to be able to show our members how they can shoot better.  Due to where I was doing this, its not looking that great, but it shows how far I have got.

Let me know what you think members.

You need to install or upgrade Flash Player to view this content, install or upgrade by clicking here.

To all members,

A lot of you will be getting your membership cards today (monday). We require you to bring your cards and show them when you pay your subs.

Thank you,

Neil

Hi all,

Sandra and myself are off to Archery GB this saturday for a conference to chat to the main people and other club officials and also to go on workshops to help us understand and improve the club as a whole. If you have any questions on what we need to ask people then either talk to us tonight or email me before friday.

See you all tonight.

Hi all,

The committee could do with a little help from our members, we are trying to look for somewhere to have an outside shoot (normally we try for a Sunday to do the outside shoots), but its proving difficult to find places.  Here are some requirements of what we are looking for:

  • About the size of a football field.
  • Private access (basically no public right of way or anything).
  • Within the Swinton area or possible surrounding areas.
  • Cheap to hire for a few hours.
If you know anyone or can help in anyway to finding a site that meets the above it would be a great help.
Please note that we will not be using it all year round, so it will be an additional place from our inside shoot, but with the benifit of doing occasional outside full length shoots.

The following details were taken from

Tickets for Test Event

Update - the tickets have now arrived and will be sent out from Wednesday 28 September 2011.

The London Classic Archery Tournament is the test event for the London Olympics in 2012 and is being held at Lords Cricket Ground, London from Tuesday 4 to Monday 10 October.

Archery GB has been allocated tickets for all days of the competition. Members can obtain free tickets for themselves, their friends and family using a reply form, which  should be returned to Membership Services together with a stamp addressed DL (22cm by 11cm) envelope (SAE). Each member can order up to 10 tickets in total.

Based on the initial date information provided to us LOCOG, we would ask that you return your form to arrive with us by as soon as possible and no later than Friday 16 September. We will process requests in the order they are received  and we expect that all tickets will be posted by Friday 23 September. If you are unsuccessful, we will use your SAE to inform you of that.

These tickets are being despatched during the annual renewal time and that is the priority for us. We thus regret that we will be unable to handle email or telephone enquiries about whether you have been successful in obtaining tickets and ask members to wait for the return of their SAE.

If you have applied, please check this web site for any updates on timings.

The London Classic Archery Tournament at Lord’s Cricket Ground is part of the London Prepares series, the official London 2012 sports testing programme.

Hi all,

I forgot to re add this post when I moved to the new site.

We are now closed to new shooters due to the volume we have at the moment, we are looking into being able to expand and as soon as we can take more people we will let everyone know.

Thanks,

Neil

Hi all,

We have upgraded!!  Yes after much hassle with the CMS system we were using for the old site, we have gone with a nice new sleek site!

“But why have to changed?, the old site was fine!” I hear you ask.  The reason for the change is that I was limited by what I could put on and how I can alter things.  Also to save my hair.

Things that will be on here now.

I am hoping that I will be putting on the following type of things.

  • Shooters handicaps
  • Tournament results
  • Gallery (yes I want pictures!!!!)
  • Videos (mainly of archery TV)
and more.
Note to all members:  If you are wanting to either help out, want things adding, etc.. then either speak to me at the club or contact me on the email address in the contact section.
